Let us make God happy through our faith
'Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.” (Nehemiah 8:10) Notice what Nehemiah says: 'the joy of the Lord is your strength'. In other words, when God is happy, we are strong in all circumstances. Let us do some spiritual mathematics and learn something from the above mentionned passage: 'God can be happy,He can feel joyful. And when he does, we become strong.' Someone ,who is so passionate about God, will definitely be wondering of finding out how he/she could make God joyful just like a child would like to make a father smile. The Bible says in Hebrews 11:6: ' And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.' The word 'please' is defined as a cause to feel happy or satisified. In other words, your faith makes God happy. Is it not amazing? Your faith makes the creator of all universerve happy and satisfied. And when God is happy, only good things happen. Somebody ,who is so passionate about his/her relationship with God, might be wondering how he/she can express faith towards God. Faith goes beyond confessing a belief. Your faith has to be expressed. In Hebrews 11:1 it is written: 'Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.' The above mentionned verse is the definition of 'faith'. The word confidence is defined as the feeling or belief that one can have faith in or rely on someone or something. Having faith is more than just a 'mouth confession' but it is also the ability to rely on God. The word rely means 'depending fully or trusting someone. In this case, the 'someone' would be God. If a lover tells you that he/she loves you but he/she cheats on you with other partners, would you belive the validity of his/her love statement? If one day you warn your friend not to go in a specific street because of the danger caused by the presence of robbers. And after warning your friend, he tells you that he has faith in your statement and he trusts you. But after a while, he decides to go on that dangerous street anyway and he finally gets robbed. Would you think that your friend trusted your statement, even though he confessed trusting you? As humans, we hardly believe people until they prove what they say with their actions. We want people to prove to us that they love us through the way they behave. But why do we deprive God with a lack of proofs through our lives? Someone might feel uncomfortable...but be informed that the Bible says in James 2:17: 'In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead' We believe and profess that there will be a Judgement but we live as if the Judgement does not exist. What good is it to profess our fear and faith for God if we act contrary to what He tells us to do? Would you be happy if your teenage child came home regularly after midnight and wasted in alcohol in spite of your advice and warnings? When it comes to our walk with God, many of us live like teenagers disregarding their parents advice and education. We postpone on God's orders, we ignore his commandments, we proffess and sing our faith for Him and yet we act contrary to what he says.Do not think that God is jubilating when we live that way... Have you ever heard those Christian people who say: 'God knows my heart, in spite of what I do' That popular statement is a fallacy fabricated by the devil in order to mislead billions of people to think that their actions do not matter. I told you in another paragraph that faith without actions is dead (James 2:17). In Jeremiah 17:10, the Bible says: "I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve." I know that is hard for many people to accept the reading of those verses but the uncomfortable feeling often occurs when there is a transition from spiritual childhood to spiritual maturity. We get rewarded according to our conduct and deeds not according to the state of our hearts. So let us make God happy (pleased) by manifesting our faith to Him, and as He is joyful, we become stronger. Because His joy is our strength. Now, this is true worship.
