'Do not isolate yourself.'

I have recently embarked into evangelizing in the streets of Durban and I often meet a few people who are actually living in the streets mainly because they have isolated themselves. They have decided to live far away from their families because of the shame, guilt or their pride...

Have you ever seen how Lions attack their preys?

When lions want to attack an animal, they choose the target that isolates itself. They rarely attack the herd but they usually wait until one member of the herd decides to isolate itself. The isolated one becomes the target.

The Bible says in 1Peter 5:8:

'Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.'

It is interesting that the Apostle Peter wrote: 'Be alert and of sober mind'.

Most people, I meet and who are living isolated in suffering, are people who do not have a sober mind. They lack the ability to think clearly since they have drowned their minds in sorrows, substances, griefs, guilt, shame....

Such distracted mind can not clearly see the devil coming at speed...The distraction caused by guilt, shame, remorse, humiliation, substance tend to cloud their vision. In the midst of those clouds Satan the devil runs and destroys them.

Again I say: Be alert and of sober mind.

Isolation will never lead you far. Let others know where you are, allow them to reach you. It might be shameful to you but remember that it would be better to humble yourself than being subject to Satan's destruction.
